people of the resurrection

This past week has been a blur.  For the first time, we decided to host a service of some sort during each night of Holy Week at Quest, including a wonderful Seder dinner (GREAT job Jeff and Jen Roach and C-Group) on Maundy Thursday.  Following yesterday’s Easter Service at Whittier Elementary, a once-yearly opportunity to gather the entire church together for one service and a meal, I’m mostly catching up on rest today.

Reflecting on the past week, I was most encouraged that so many people came together to create services, set up chairs, sing and make music, cook great potluck dishes, set up, tear down, clean up, hide eggs, teach children, preach messages, and in general BE the church to one another.  This should be a reminder that living out faith in community does not require a theology degree, but only heart and hands willing to serve.  We are all privileged and hopefully empowered to live as people of the resurrection. To all of you who came together during the past weeks, THANK YOU for serving alongside as community. It has been glorious to live life with you.  I look forward to the year to come!
