Global Presence Update for May/June

So many things are going on in our world, and at our church.  Below is our update for the months of May and June.
As summer swiftly approaches, we have many opportunities for you to participate in what is going on around the world. Please review the updates and action items below, we hope you can join us!  In particular, the MISSIONARY BREAKFAST with the S family, who are building relationships in Central Asia, will replace our regular second Monday meeting. There will be NO GP MEETING ON JUNE 9.

MISSIONARY BREAKFAST
Please join us as we welcome the S family (because they serve in Central Asia, we cannot mention their name and location via email. Feel free to call the office for more details) this SATURDAY, MAY 31 in Q Cafe from 10:30 am to Noon. They will be sharing about their work in Central Asia and how we can be praying for them.

SUMMER VISIONARIES MEETING

If you’re traveling on a mission or vision trip this Summer, Quest wants to hear from you! We’d love to support you and give the church access to your story via the web page.  To be involved, a meeting with Pastor Leah is scheduled THIS SUNDAY June 1st directly following the 5pm service.

MYANMAR RELIEF FUNDRAISER
Big thanks to Eunice Soh and all who helped with the Myanmar Relief Fundraising concert and silent auction. More than $2,500 was raised to go directly to relief efforts via World Aid. Great job everyone! To continue contributing, you can write your check to Quest with a note indicating ‘Cyclone Relief’, or donate directly to World Aid or Covenant World Relief.

TANZANIA TRIP UPCOMING DETAILS
Barb Lundquist will be leading a team including Brian and Nicole Hickory, to Chamweno and Dar es Salaam this July.  Stay tuned for details on an upcoming fundraising event, and check the website for a support letter from the Hickory’s.

KENYA SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE

Quester Linda Szeto is traveling to Kenya in June to work as a Speech and Language Pathologist.  She is collecting school supplies for the Dago Dala Hera Orphanage and the Sirua Aulo Academy through June 15.  For more details, or to donate new or gently used school supplies, email Linda at autosmiler@gmail.com or see her at the 5pm service.

If you’d like to get more involved with the Global Presence Ministry at Quest, or would like to share what you’re up to regarding global issues, email me at leah@seattlequest.org
