Retreat as a Way of Life
This weekend, a dozen or so of us will gather on the shores of Lake Sammamish for a weekend of worship, fellowship, laughter, good food, and relaxation. Over the past few weeks, each person has shared a glimpse of what they’re looking forward to: quiet time, boating, getting to know more people, singing worship songs, dreaming about our future as a church, an epic ping pong tournament, or just hanging out together on the dock. At Sinners 
and Saints, we have been exploring together what it means to practice living out our faith in everyday life. For folks from Christian backgrounds, many have noted the disparity between an intense faith experience like a church retreat, and slogging it out in the trenches of the work-life-school-family-friends balancing act we live.
From 6pm on Friday to 1pm on Sunday, we gather not to take a break from our daily lives, but with the hope of bringing our experiences at the Lake into the everyday. If you aren’t able to join us in person this weekend, join us in prayer. Pray that we would take the lessons learned into the start of churchplanting in the University District. Pray for courage to share our hearts with each other, and to share God’s heart with our city.
